Kentisbeare (aka Kentisbere), a parish in the eastern division hundred of Hayridge, in the Archdeaconry and Diocese of Exeter, is 2-1/4 miles southeast of Willand, and 2-1/2 miles south of Uffculme, and includes the hamlet of Sainhill. The Trustees of the late Earl Of Egremont were patrons of the rectory in 1850 and lords of the manor, formerly held by the PUNCHARDSON, FURNEAUX, BONVILLE, and other families. (White). Extracted by Combs Researcher Joe Kendalll from "Somerset Parish Registers, Marriages", W.P.W. Phillimore, M.A., B.C.L. and E.H. Bates, M.A., rector of Puckington. v. IV; London 124 Chancery Lane 1902. Wraxall Marriages p. 130:

Kentisbere) (2) Kentisbury, a parish in the hundred of Braunton, Devonshire (Northern Division); or perhaps (3) Tamerton Folliot, Hundred of Roborough (Southern Division). Unfortunately, no early Combs records have been located as yet in any of these parishes, although the marriage of John and Susan COMBE Tilly, kin to the Archdale-Combs Families, took place in the nearby parish of Willand.
