1629 The will of William COMBE of Oxfordshire includes a bequest to "my aunte Chrian LANGWORTH livinge in Devonsheire the some of twenty pounds duringe her naturall life up on condition securitie be given that her daughter Margarett shall enjoy it after her decease."

William's aunt has not been identified, although it is suspected she was a paternal aunt since no mention of LANGWORTH (a.k.a. LONGWORTH? LANGWORTHY? LONGWORTHY?) has been located in Archdale Family records, and William was the son of John and Margaret ARCHDALE Combe of St. Mary the Virgin Aldermanbury, London. Whether her residence in Devonshire was an indication of from whence the Combs came, or to where she went, is not yet known; however, see also William's cousin, Susan COMBE Tilly of Willand, Devon. See also LANGWORTH in connection to St. Mary's and Charles Counties, MD, and see Christian, wife of Lawrence TOSSELL of Tawstock, Fremington Hundred; and Christian of Islington, Teignbridge Hundred.
