Uplowman, a parish in the east division, partly in the hundred of Halberton, but chiefly in that of Tiverton, county of Devon, 1-1/3 miles northwest of Sampford Peverell, 2 miles northeast of Halberton, 3 miles southwest of Hocombe Rogus, 3 miles southeast of Huntsham, and 3-1/3 miles northwest of Willand... the living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry and diocese of Exeter... John SILLIFANT and T. HUGO, Esqrs. were patrons in 1822. The church is dedicated to St. Peter. The river Lowman runs through the parish.
