Tentative interpretation of abbreviations and meaning: Administration of estate of William COOMBE of Frome Selwood, Somerset, deceased, to Joan COOMBE, relict (widow), in 1609. No Frome Selwood found yet. Not known if Frome Selwood and Frome are the same, but see also Earliest Combs of England, which includes an index from an unidentified Court of Requests that lists a “William COMBE of Keyford in Frome, Selwood, tanner (Somerset, Warwick), 296/71; 393/24.” (this reference not yet read).

Elizabeth HILL was born in Beckington, Somerset, the daughter of John and Elizabeth HUNT Hill who married in 1663 in Bristol. Samuel was born in Bristol in 1662/3, to Samuel and Elizabeth COMBS and by 3 Jul 1697 birth of son, Joseph) they were in County Cork, Ireland.
