Allen County was created on 25 Aug 1855 Kansas Territory from non-county area; not fully organized. Fully organized on 07 May 1856. Allen Co became a county in the state of Kansas. on 29 Jan 1861. Lost land to Neosho Co and Wilson Co on 13 Feb 1865. Gained land from Neosho Co. on 24 Mar 1870.
