27 Dec 1868 Newale Combs marriage record. 27 Dec 1868 Sarah A DUDGEON marriage (Source: Index entries from Wisconsin Marriage Records, Ancestry.com) Sarah DUDGEON is the only Sarah who married on this date, and Newell and wife Sarah Jane are found living next door to John and Elizabeth DUDGEON in the 1880 Saline Co, NE census. This marriage may be the second for Newell.

SE Notes: This couple next found in 1880 Saline Co, NE census living next door to John and Elizabeth DUDGEON who are believed to be the parents of Sarah DUDGEON who married Newale Combs on 27 Dec 1868 in Green Co, WI. Newell E Combs applied for a Civil War Pension in 1889 from Nebraska and his widow Sarah J Combs applied in 1900. He is likely the same as the Joel E Combs, CW veteran found in the 1890 Saline Co, NE Veterans census.Official CW records show one Newell E Combs [the pensioner] was a private in the 22nd Wisconsin Infantry, Co. G. No Newell Combs has been found in the 1860 Wisconsin census. The only Newel Combs is age 29 found in Trumbull Co, OH, with possible wife Dianah. The above Frank and Jennie may be from a previous marriage.
