Report for Henry
"8" COMBS, h/o (1) Rachel CLEMENTS; (2) Phebe FRANCIS; and possibly
(3) Tenah UNKNOWN. See Greene
Co, IN where Henry appears to be the same who was alive as late as
1850. He is not believed to have ever been in Johnson
Co, IN where a Harrison COMBS is found who was probably s/o Joseph
Allen & Nancy RANSDELL Combs, s/o Claytor & Jael RANSDELL (Voorhees)
Combs of Mercer
Co, KY). Numerous of Henry's children remain unknown, and most are
still undocumented. Note that Stephen did not marry a Frances, but Martha
"Patsy" FRANCIS; and that neither Downey & Polly COMBS Stacey, nor
John & Winnie COMBS Miller, have been located as yet.

has been omitted as a child on this page, but on p. 70 is listed as having
married Zachariah MORGAN and on page 139 as having married Samuel "Black
Sam" COMBS, s/o Nicholas "Bird-Eye" and Elizabeth COMBS Combs (She married
both).

Report for Biram
"8" COMBS, Sr. who, like his brother, Henry, is not known to
have ever lived in Johnson Co, IN (Biram and Henry were both in Greene
Co, IN). Seeking source for Biram, Sr. as father of Biram, Jr. of Perry
Co, KY, and Robert COMBS of Wayne
Co, KY (Biram, Sr. was not the father of Harrison COMBS of Johnson
Co, IN). Also Note: Biram's Research Report includes substantial additional
data regarding numerous Biram COMBS, including Biram COMBS, Jr., whose
son, John COMBS, may have been a John COMBS-COUCH (records not yet located),
but who was not the John COMBS, b ca 1810, TN, who had removed to
Madison
Co, AR by the early 1830s. The John COMBS, s/o Biram, Jr., who removed
to Madison Co, AR did not do so until the 1850s. In 1850, he was in the
Perry Co, KY household of Mary Ann "Polly" COMBS Combs, d/o Jeremiah
L. "Long" COMBS and widow of Elijah COMBS, Jr., and in 1860, Polly
was in John's census household in Madison Co, AR (See also Two

Footnote 8. Page 146. Re family of Washington
& Sally WHITAKER Combs, seeking documentation of Susan, w/o Samuel
NAPIER, having been d/o Washington & Sally WHITAKER Combs (s/o Mason
"8" & Jane RICHARDSON Combs). Missing from this list of children is
Jefferson COMBS, who was in Washington's 1850 Perry Co, KY household,
m 1860, Perry Co, KY, Minerva, d/o Biram S. & Mariah MESSER Combs (the
bridal couple in Washington's 1860 Perry census household, and he was in
their 1880 Perry household). No S. J. "Jett" (Stephen Jett?) COMBS, nor
any Vina COMBS has been located in records as children of Washington as
yet. The J.P. COMBS (not I.P.) who was in Washington's 1870 Perry
household was likely the s/o his daughter, Margaret "Peggy" COMBS by John
LACEY (oral family tradition) and may have actually been G.P.,
aka Granville Pearl COMBS, b 1857/8. Margaret m 12 Feb 1862, Perry Co,
KY, Carlo COMBS, s/o Tarleton & Elizabeth ISON Combs.

Footnote 11. Page 149. Re "9 Claiborne [Combs]
(son of George 8) and Sarah [ ---]," and "9 Claiborne [Combs] (son of George
8) and Sarah [ ---]," these are the same couple. Clabourne COMBS (s/o George
"8" and Lydia HERALD Combs) m ca 1826, his first cousin, Sarah COMBS (d/o
RW
John "8" COMBS), widow of James HUNDLEY, whom she had married 2 Nov
1810, Lincoln Co, KY, and by whom she had Samuel, Harvey and Thomas, with
Harvey always having gone by surname COMBS rather than HUNDLEY. Neither
Uriah, nor "Macey" have been located as yet, and the latter may have been
aka "Meecie" whose real given name was Artemisia COMBS. James and John
D. were not the children of Claiborne and Sarah "Sallie" COMBS Combs,
but the natural children of their daughter, Artemisia (See Owsley
Co, KY Records). Uriah has also never been identified (seeking source).

Footnote 15. Pages 150-151. Re children of
Matthew and Frankie BROWN Combs, Sr. (s/o Henry "8" and Rachel CLEMENTS
Combs, Sr.), note that Aaron may have gone to Kansas (not researched),
but in 1850 was in Gentry
Co, MO with wife, Ruth DICKERSON; that Matthew & Sallie WILLIAMS
Combs were in Andrew
Co, MO by 1850; that Isaac B. was married 1st to Lovisa McINTYRE per
the Dickey Diary Interview of Isaac's brother
William M. and is listed on the 1860 Morgan Co, KY
Census. Rebecca SWANGO was his 2nd wife and found later in Wolfe
Co, KY; that Nathan removed to Fayetteville, Washington
Co, AR where his estate records document a number of his nephews and
nieces. Matthew COMBS, Sr. and remaining children are found primarily in
the records of Breathitt
Co, KY and Morgan
Co, KY.

Footnote 16. Page 152. This is not
Nathan COMBS, s/o Matthew and Frankie BROWN Combs, Sr. Their son, Nathan,
removed to Fayetteville, Washington Co, AR where he married 7 Jun
1854, Elizabeth CLINE, d/o George and Elizabeth CLINE, as is documented
by both Dickey Diary Interviews and the records of Washington Co, AR which
further document that Nathan and Elizabeth had only one child, Isaac G.
COMBS who m Martha COWAN, but died s.p. (childless). William M. and Jane
COMBS Combs of Breathitt Co, KY had a son Nathan Lee COMBS who married
1st in 1889 Knott Co, KY to Silva COMBS and had amongst their children
a Bertha, Susan, James G. Buchanon, Rollin [sic] , and a Montgomery.
There is a strong possibility that this is the same family. See Wolfe
Co, KY Records.

Footnote 17. Page 152. Re Jeremiah Lorenzo
and Sarah "Sallie" KELLY Combs, her surname is documented by the 1918 Knott
Co, KY Death Certificate of their son, William Riley COMBS. Of their
children listed herein, no "Tilden" COMBS has been located thus far, but
missing from this list is Fieldon (Fielding?) COMBS, b 1842-4, KY, who
is in their 1850 Perry Co, KY household. Page
159 lists "Big Tilden" with a son Jack and may be the same who listed
on the 1870 Perry Co, KY with wife Minta with a son Jackson, and whose
25 Feb 1914, Jefferson
Co, KY death certificate documents him as their son. Is
it possible that the typist of this manuscript mistook the name Fieldon
for Tilden (not just here but elsewhere)? Except... still no marriage located
for Fieldon to a GODSEY???
