George Ainsworth Davidson Coomes stated in his ms. that the above Tobe COMES was the same as Tobias COMBS, bapt. July 31, 1586, Church of St. Mary, Hemel-Hempstead, Hertsfordshire. He listed Mary as daughter of John THEEDE of Crofton, Bucks (His sources are not known). Also note that no Crofton has been located in Bucks (nor anywhere near) as yet. See also Edlesborough, Bucks below. Reminder: A much later Tobias COMBS is of Dorchester County, Maryland in the early 1700s (naming pattern?)
