St. Katherine by the Tower
(0.62 east of City Centre) London

Saint Katherine by the Tower (.62 east of the city centre) (a.k.a. St. Katherine Middlesex) is a "Royal Peculiar," a precinct whose small area adjoins the Tower of London. Records are at the Guildhall Library: Baptiams, Burials,1584-1695 and Marriages: 1584-1726. Marriage licenses are extant for the period 1686-1802 (with some gaps). No licenses were issued after 1802. The Guildhall Library also holds St Katherine's probate records for the period of 1688-1818. (Guildhall Library, IGI)
