Notes: Is this Houston Combs, son of Jesse or Asa Combs, son of Samuel and Mary WILKES Combs. Samuel's grandson married (1) 18 Sep 1817, Hardin Co., KY, Polly HICKMAN. According to the William Franklin Coombs Manuscript, Huston married 2nd a Widow SHAFER and lived in Bowling Green See also Warren Co., KY
17 Dec 1832 William HAMMOCK, born 15 Jun 1760, Amelia Co., VA, applied for his pension 17 Dec 1832, Union Co., KY, and declared that he resided in Anson Co NC when he enlisted and that after the RW he moved to Georgia, then Kentucky (RW Pension File S15442, White).
