Morris Co NJ was established in 1739 from Hunterdon, and in 1753, Sussex Co was established from Morris.
May 7, 1777. The Pennsylvania Gazette. Extract of a letter from Morristown [present-day Morris or Middlesex Cos, NJ?], dated April 28 makes reference to Capt. COMBS who was wounded in battle, possibly a reference to Capt. John COMBS.
