SE Notes: Believed to be son of Jackson Combs and Mary Ann YOUNG of Perry Co., Ky. Fielden previously found in the 1900 Mingo Co., WV census where he was living next door to Elijah FULLER, the son of Archabald FULLER and Dicy COUCH of Perry and Knott Cos., KY. Jackson was first married to Sylvania ENGLE in Perry Co., Ky., by whom he had 5 children: Elijah, Winnie, Angeline, Jerry, and William. Although no divorce record has been located, Sylvania remarried Wilburn THACKER and remained in Knott Co., Ky. Fielden removed to Mingo Co., WVA by 1900 where he is shown living with one Elizabeth FULLER and 2 children Riley and Leona. Elizabeth's ancestry has not been determined. The census record is confusing because it states that Fielden had been married 40 years and Elizabeth had been married 30 years which could mean that Elizabeth was not the mother of all of the rest of his children. Robert C. Combs' 1928 Bath Co. marriage record states his parents were F. C. Combs and Elizabeth DOOLEY.
