Harlington Parish, hundred of Elthorne, lies abt 15 mi. southwest of the centre of the City of London, with Cranford to the southeast; Heston to the east; Hayes to the northeast; Hillingdon> to the north; West Drayton to the northwest; Harmondsworth to the west; Stanwell to the southwest; and East Bedfont to the south....The living is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Middlesex, and diocese of London, rated in the king's books Harlington, otherwise Arlington, gave the titles of baron and earl to the family of BENNET.
