Note: Although the C 1 Series cover a period of almost 200 years, it is possible to narrow the date range somewhat; i.e., the PRO notes that "The records are no longer in their original arrangement and may have been brought together from at least four overlapping series.The documents are now arranged in chronological order by chancellor as far as possible, and within that by the first letter of the first plaintiff's surname." (PRO Series C 1 Information, which also includes added sources for published indices).
