(Abstract of Wills and Administrations - Johnson County, Missouri 1835-1855, compiled by Betty Harvey Williams, page 15)
Notes: The above is David Bullock Combs, son of John and Betsy Bingham BULLOCK Combs, m Rebecca Massie BURRUS 09 Jul 1833 in Christian Co KY. According to "A Supplement to Pamunkey Neighbors, The BURRUS Family," Ruth & Sam Sparacio, Antient Press, McLean, VA (extracted):
"Roger Tandy BURRUS had 13 children, the eldest was Nathaniel BURRUS, b. Nov. 20, 1790 in VA, d. 1870 in Todd Co., KY (he married Rebecca MASSIE, dau. of Rev. George MASSIE and Temperance BAKER of Louisa Co., VA) The second to youngest child of Roger Tandy & Cynthia MILLS Burrus was Rebecca Massie BURRUS, b. June 19, 1814, m. 1st David Bullock Combs Rebecca Massie BURRUS Combs remarried to David Roland COCKERHAM and they are found in the 1850 Census of Hempstead Co AR."
Also Note: There is an 1845 Henry Co MO marriage of a David COCKNHAM [sic] to an Elizabeth Combs, yet the 1850 Hempstead Co AR Census shows COCKERHAM children born in 1841 and 1842. It is possible (not researched) that David COCKERHAM married (1) an Elizabeth Combs; and (2) the widow Rebecca Massie BURRUS Combs.

Notes: Richard Cuthbert, s/o John & Betsy Bingham BULLOCK Combs, m Cynthia SNELLING (d/o Benjamin & Frances BURRUS Snelling), and their family is found in 1850 on the Yamhill Co, OR Census.
22 Aug 1843 Combs, Francis B. married BRADSHAW, Isaac N. on 22 Aug 1843 in Johnson County, Missouri (Johnson Co MO Marriage Records) ("Early American Marriages: Missouri to 1850, Jordan R. Dodd, et al, Precision Indexing Publishers, Bountiful, UT)

21 Mar 1844 Combs, Elizabeth E. married BROWNING, Jacob A. on 21 Mar 1844 in Johnson County, Missouri (Johnson Co MO Marriage Records) ("Early American Marriages: Missouri to 1850, Jordan R. Dodd, et al, Precision Indexing Publishers, Bountiful, UT)

03 Apr 1849 Combs, John married BREWER, Ann on 03 Apr 1849 in Johnson County, Missouri (Johnson Co MO Marriage Records) ("Early American Marriages: Missouri to 1850, Jordan R. Dodd, et al, Precision Indexing Publishers, Bountiful, UT)

(Extracted by Researcher R. Fone)
Notes: See 1852 Johnson Co MO will of Mary Combs (below). Was she the widow of Richard Combs above?
John Combs, Farmer, age 41, b. Tenn.
Ann, age 39, b. Tenn.
Marcilla E., age 16, b. Tenn.
William, age 13, b. Ky.
James E., age 12, b. Ky.
John M., age 8, b. Ky.
Martha A. BREWER, age 18, b. Tenn.
Jane, age 14, b. Mo.
Thomas, age 10 b. Mo.
(Extracted by Researcher R. Fone)
Notes: The above HH appears to include the 03 Apr 1849 Johnson Co MO bride and groom, John Combs & Ann BREWER. It appears that both were married previously, and that John Combs was in TN from ca1801 to 1834, moved to KY between 1834 and 1837, and to MO between 1842 and 1850. Ann BREWER appears to have been in TN from 1811 to at least 1832, and to have moved to KY between 1832 & 1836. Sixteen John Combs are found on the 1840 Kentucky Census Index. Until those census records have been transcribed, it will not be possible to even "guess" at which John Combs this is. Census Household #'s still needed for this census to determine if these two families were living close to each other.
