24 Aug 1824. Providence Church Minutes, Francisco, Gibson Co, IN. Joseph COMBS applied for letter of dismission along with others, including John HOLCOMB, which letters were granted with the purpose of moving to Fulton County, IL (Combs Researcher Herbert Holcomb).

16 Dec 1827 Fulton Co, IL. Died: Stacy COMBS, w/o Redding PUTMAN (m 6 Jun 1812, Knox Co, IN) (Missing Family Bible Record includes birth and death dates according to Combs Researcher Jim Ross)
Notes: According to Family Tradition (still seeking original sources), Stacy was the d/o Bennett & Dorothy COMBS of Pendleton, SC; however, she is also said to have been born 2 Sep 1794 in Wilkes Co, NC. Following the death of Stacy and his remarriage to Phoebe MARSH in Fulton Co, IL on 21 Feb 1829, Redding PUTMAN removed to Washington Co, AR, where also is found the Levi COMBS, who follows, b 1796, near Salisbury, Rowan Co, NC, and raised in Wilkes Co, NC. Likewise, a Joseph COMBS (see above) is also thought to have possibly been a s/o Bennett and Dorothy, possibly the same found in Butler Co, KY, and Gibson Co, IN.
