Franklin County was established in 1811 from Dearborn and Clark Cos In. In 1819, Fayette was created from Franklin, Wayne and non-county area, and in 1820 Franklin gained from non-county area. In 1821, Union was created from Wayne, Franklin and Fayette Cos. Also note that Franklin abuts Butler Co, OH.

04 Sep 1952 Obituary. Angeline Combs Thomas, 78 years old, of R. 2, Brookville (Old Bath), IN, wife of David Daniel THOMAS, died Friday morning, August 29, 1952, at 5:00 a.m. at Fort Hamilton Hospital, where she had been a patient for three weeks. She was originally from London, Laurel County, KY. Survivors include the husband; six children, Mrs. Florence GELISPIE; Mrs. Dorothy CARPENTER of Liberty, IN; Mrs. Nora ROAN of Warren, OH; Mrs. Cora ROSS, Dearborn, MI; Mrs. Dannie KINNEY, Rushville, IN; Mrs. Lula BOWLING of Salem, IN; and 26 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. THOMAS were held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Brookville Christian Church with Rev. O. Gerge Stansberry officiating.

A native of London [Laurel Co], KY, Mr. Thomas was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Angeline Combs Thomas, who died in 1952. Survivors include his widow, Linda, of KY; 6 daughters, Mrs. Florence LEWIS of Liberty, IN; Mrs. CARPENTER of Tampa, FL; Mrs. Mary RAUM of Toledo, OH; Mrs. Carrie ROSS of Dearborn, MI; Mrs. Fanny KENNEDY of Morristown, IN; and Mrs. Lula BOLAND of Scottsburg, IN. Furneral services for Mr. THOMAS will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 22, 1965, in Cook Funeral Home, Clevenger Chapel. Rev. Archie WILSON will officiate and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
