Jefferson County was established in 1811 from Clark and Dearborn. Descendant Counties: 1811 [sic]: Franklin from Clark, Dearborn and Jefferson. 1814: Switzerland from Dearborn and Jefferson. 1816: Jackson from Clark, Washington and Jefferson. 1816: Ripley from Dearborn and Jefferson. 1817: Jennings from Jackson and Jefferson. 1820: Scott from Clark, Jennings and Jefferson.

Notes: Emily Combs was the d/o Thomas Combs (s/o Amos & Tacy DRAKE Combs) & Elizabeth Combs (d/o Adin & Pamelia WILLIAMS Combs) of Hardin and Henry Cos, KY. Thomas d in 1834, his will dated 17 Mar 1834, and proved Apr of the same year, a self-proclaimed resident of Henry County. Andrew MITCHELL, co-executor, is said to have been the father of Addison (who may have been a.k.a. Andrew). According to the William F. Coombs Manuscript, "Emily [Combs] married Addison MITCHELL of Trimble County, Kentucky, where they lived and died, leaving several children." (See 3 Sep 1847, Trimble deeds). Question: How did they come to marry in Jefferson? Who was Asa of the 1829 Jefferson marriage record (Asa a common given name in this line)?
