Ed. Note: Both of the above two articles were authored by Combs Researcher Michael R. Wilson for Combs Research. Although their titles suggest that they are intended for Jackson Co, MO researchers, their author has, in the first instance, provided his readers with an excellent picture of early schools in not only Missouri, but throughout America's frontier; and in the second, great insight into the policies and politics of post-Civil War Missouri.
